Marianne Lovink Goldsmith

"This book is a beautifully written narrative of the author’s psychoanalytic journey to integrate and make meaning of an
almost forgotten but life-changing childhood experience. Goldsmith generously invites us to accompany her in her turbulent and transformative experience of a psychoanalytic treatment, tracked in an intimate diary ... One gets a vivid understanding of how the human mind protects itself from experiences that are too overwhelming to be understood or processed at the time they occur."

About The Cover Art
Overview, The Rio Grande, Taos, NM, acrylic on ceramic bowl, Keith Allen Crown, 1993. The bowl was purchased by the author in Santa Fe, a year before the analysis came to an end. Signifying her gratitude for her analyst’s love, she named the image “a jubilant leap.” It is the subject of a final chapter in this book. Reproduced with permission of the artist's estate.
